Eventually, it has to happen. One of them broke a rule and i had no doubt in mind that it was intentional, a direct challenge to my authority. No matter how i tried to set fair rules and treatment and how motivated most of them in my class, one of them really pushed back to see how i react to it. As much as i want to, i hate confrontation because it causes tension. I am trying to establish a supportive classroom management. For me, disciplining is by no means fun somehow, it is an essential component of classroom management. I felt that i was disrespected. I love them, i really do but this one steps out of the line and pushes me to the limit. I cant ignore this kind of behavior. To tell you frankly, i hate it when students who were disciplined or even reprimanded held a grudge after what was said and done. Upon meeting all of you, i immediately embrace the fact that you are my children. I open myself to you as a person and not simply a mindless authority figure. You have to learn valuable lessons about whos in-charge and what i expect from you.
