Ever seen Ghanaians, especially Akans, passionately fighting over the spelling of names, on the grounds of staying true to tradition? Eg. Kofi and Coffie, Kwesi and Kwasi, Quakyi and Kwakyi, Akyeampong and Acheampong, Adjei and Agyei, Kwamina and Kwamena, etc.? Thats so funny. Considering that however you spell it, youre still using, not some native Alphabet, but the Roman, Latin, script. And a foreign phonetic system too....:-)
