Ever wondered how to make your own nut milk, like almond? Well, - TopicsExpress

Ever wondered how to make your own nut milk, like almond? Well, one of the ladies from my online fitness group shared this with us. Seriously? I CAN do this. I suggest making your own. It is really simple and clean. All prepackaged nut milks have a lot of additives. Almost milk: 1c raw almonds soaked for at least 4 hours in purified water Empty out water after theyve soaked. Place soaked almonds in a blender with 3-4 c purified water. Add 1Tbsp coconut oil Blend on high for about two minutes. Either use cheese cloth or a but milk bag to separate pulp from the milk. Enjoy! It will only keep for a few days as there are no preservatives. If you want add 1TBsp of vanilla. You can sweeten it with 1/4c dates (take out the pits!) or honey or maple syrup. If you want you can also add 1Tbsp soy lethicin. It just makes it smoother and acts as a binder. All nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans) need to be soaked before use EXCEPT Brazil nuts. With the Brazil nut milk I would recommend flavoring it. Enjoy! Thank you Thea! You are amazing.
