Every Fourth of July, from 1962 until 1998, my dad Dick Swartz would organize a best-ball golf outing among friends at Maplecrest. Similar events were held over Memorial and Labor day weekends. Many of those friends are no longer with us and we remember them on this special day in 2014: I believe most were also military veterans.
