Every couple months, I post a controversial subject. This month, Its all about MILK. I grew up in Sharon Springs, NY - we had some Black Angus beef cows we raised. Most of our neighbors had dairy farms. I went to school with many classmates that had dairy farms. I grew up on good, wholesome MILK. Whether we got it from neighbors in metal milk cans, or in glass bottles from DAIRYLAND, we drank MILK. Today, I live in a DAIRY state. We produce cheese... and you got it- MILK. As of late, there has been articles published from the UK that state how MILK is killing us; causing early bone loss etc, etc. The media pooh-poohs milk, and competitors push non-Dairy products. Vegan groups protest it and many holistic healthcare professionals recommend it cut from diets. For those who have allergies- we understand completely - so this is NOT telling you to drink Milk. I am 100 percent for the American farmer. I believe that MILK does DO A BODY GOOD I drink Milk. People have grown to hate the taste of milk. People have stopped drinking it, so when they DO have it, it makes them sick and lactose intolerant . My gripe is with all the groups and studies that discourage MILK. The farmers work hard and dont even get enough money per gallon for their production out here in the Midwest. Before you totally listen to all the bad PR Milk is getting lately, research it yourself. There are sooo many gosh awful chemicals put in our drinks and our foods - why pick on MILK of all things? Growing up on our farm, we always had the freshest of beef, chicken ducks and eggs... we grew and canned our own veggies, and got our milk from neighbors. When I left that life and came to the new world of processed foods, I became very sick. I had tests and studies done some years ago that showed I reacted to many of the chemicals in the foods that preserve them. My skin problems, my allergies and my headaches are all from certain chemicals in the foods of today. I was told that growing up with all natural foods and MILK, my body was strong, resistant and I rarely got sick...now... its quite the opposite. My POINT... Give MILK a CHANCE !!!
