Every day in Zimbabwe on our Qoya Service & Safari Retreat is filled with moments that leave me in wonder for the gift of life and how we show up to live it. Six years ago on Dec 2nd, I buried five babies in Zimbabwe, one was named Loveness, a two month old baby I was hoping to adopt. Since then, Ive returned 20+ times to help in the care of other abandoned and orphaned children here (with the help of family and friends all over the world). Each trip is filled with heart-breaking and heart-opening moments. In the last several days our retreat group has worked with 150 children ages 4-7, walked with rhinos, fed elephants and hiked up huge boulders for spectacular sunsets. One of our Qoya classes was in the game park and included a round of square dancing (and lots of laughter) before we took turns walking into a labyrinth as a way to connect deeper to voice within, like the sacred wisdom of the rhinos here who remind us to know thyself. Tomorrow we are starting the day with a sunrise elephant ride, hosting a holiday party for the children at a local school and visiting the Wild Is Life animal sanctuary. Sending love from Zimbabwe, Betsy
