Every morning I get in the lift in my apartment block and travel to the ground floor in splendid isolation, no one else is about and no one else ever gets in. Ever. This morning, just as the doors close, I happen to tread on a duck, you know - let one off aft...... Just as I am realising the full olefactory implications of this and to my surprise, the lift then stops at the next floor down and 4 other people get in. We then proceed to share the output of my gut together. For the next 25 floors. The undignified scramble to get out of the lift at the lobby was something to behold. I have seen nothing like it since my last stint in the CS chamber for respirator training....
