Every time I go to CharlotteONE -- I am a member of the Board of that city-wide gathering of 20s and 30s who meet at First UMC in uptown -- I am moved to tears. I think thats because I dont have to LEAD while there. I can just be. Anyway, last night it was the bands gorgeous version of Phil Wickhams anthemic Youre Beautiful. Id never heard it before last night & this lyric toward the end made the goose bumps rise and the tears fall: When we arrive at eternitys shore Where death is just a memory and tears are no more Well enter in as the wedding bells ring Your bride will come together and well sing Youre beautiful The wedding imagery there is drawn straight from the end of Revelation and, combined with the vocals & instrumentation behind it, is the most evocative description of the end of days Ive come across. https://youtube/watch?v=_ZEltZXQpuM
