Every veteran deserves our respect for the willingness they had in putting their lives on the line for our freedom . Not all who serve are jacked up, manly men with identical buzzcuts. We’re eighteen year old boys right out of high school and ninety year old women. We’re career soldiers who have never done anything else and we’re stay at home moms who are also weekend warriors. We’re East Coasters and West Coasters and everywhere in between. We’re your stereotypical jocks and your stereotypical nerds. We’re a tiny percentage of society, but we come from all different parts of society. So tomorrow on Veterans Day, put aside your preconceived notions about what it means to be a veteran, and spare a few words of gratitude for those who serve. If you see a serviceman or former serviceman today, or any other day, please just stop and take a few seconds to thank them. It will not only make their day, but it will make yours too.
