Every year during Ramadan every half baked dato or datin will try to outrace each other to see who can feed the most number of orphans. Meanwhile, their own relatives or flesh and blood who may be in need of financial or any other kind assistance will of course be last on their list of beneficiaries, if they are even on the list at all. Charity should start at home and work its way outwards. If we all took care of those in need of assistance closest to us there wouldnt need to be any fund raising to help the needy. So before you whip up your wallets and purses to go feed complete strangers who may or may not (some establishments are overrun with donations that time of year) need your money in the first place, try to look around to the ones closer and closest to you
