Everyday, as mothers, we face horrible odds. we live in a world where children are only placed in a position of importance when someone wants to use them to get you to do things their way. If its a woman saying she wants to be a stay at home mom...suddenly children are not that important and that woman is seen as unmotivated, insecure, lacking in self confidence, underachieving, etc. The battle we fight is in our own minds and hearts. As we get up to start the day the lines of some times well-intentioned women throughout our lives run through our minds and it continues all day. When our children start to be more independent and at the same time less complimentary its easy to say that we want out becuase we feel unfulfilled. I have news. If you dont feel fulfilled, it isnt about education or career, it is about yourself. When people see a woman going into school or a new career they rally around her and congratulate her. Its nice to feel that approval. When she steps back from those things to stay at home, the only rally and support is in her own heart from God and angels but it can only be accessed if when is looking for it there. Are you conquering the doubts and fears in your own mind? Are you a perfect mom? YES, you ARE. Are you the mom that does everything our wolrd has put on the checklist that makes a good mom? Probably not. But it isnt between you and the world, its between you and God. God, not society and not biology, made you a mother, your childrens mother. Trust THAT instead of the doubts and fears. No-one can take better care of your family than you. I hear women talk about how they cannot teach their children. Bull #@*$. I really dont care if a person choses to homeschool or not, but YOU ARE THEIR teacher if you are their mother. Of course you can teach them, God designed you AND them and put you together for a reason: you are the perfect teacher for them. Are there issues to resolve between you two before you can teach them some things? YES. Are you going to let that be an excuse to fail...to quit or are you going to make that knowledge a tool in your belt to overcome it? If you are a mom, chances are you used to dream of being a mom, you dreamed not just of having a child but of raising that child to be strong, happy, loving, and successful. So what if the road to that looks different than you thought it would. You and God can still carve out together the perfect road to your perfect life and Gods mercy and the justice provided by His son will give you the power and strength to do it. Have the courage to stay in the fight and not use politically and socially correct excuses. Have the COURAGE to BE A MOTHER FIRST!
