Carry The Load is coming through Sulphur Springs again, and everyone is encouraged to participate in some way. It costs nothing but a little time and effort - NO MONEY INVOLVED! Carry The Load is a national effort to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day by connecting Americans to the sacrifices of our military, law enforcement, firefighters and rescue personnel. This walking relay will reach Sulphur Springs at 4 a.m. (yes, it goes 24-hours a day, rain or shine!) at Jefferson Street at Loop 301, and will walk through downtown, pausing at about 4:45 at the Veterans Memorial on Celebration Square for a brief prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, then proceeding west on Main Street to CMH Road by 6 a.m. You can join others and walk the whole way, or any part of it, or just show up and cheer the walkers on.
