Everyone gets profiled by the police. The logic behind it goes like this: If the majority of certain crimes are committed by group X instead of group Y, then we know by these statistics that group X is more likely to commit certain crimes more often than group Y. This logic supposedly helps to narrow the margin of suspects in order to find the real perpetrator. I know a lot of people dont agree with it but it sounds like common sense to me.
