Everyone in my sociology class insists that the Ferguson case was institutional racism and that black kids get shot by police all the time. I quote one girl from the class its the same shit, different year! I can only think of two examples of black kids being shot, and only one by police. Michael Brown by a police officer and Trayvon Martin who was shot by a civilian. I just want to point out that the guy that shot Trayvon was half Mexican and half white, but we dont hear that in the media. All we hear is white man shoots black teen. Since the Michael Brown case I have heard of several examples of white people being shot by both police and other civilians. Is this example below an example of racism? If so why is it not getting the same coverage that Trayvon and Michael Brown got? So tell me, is Officer Wilson really the racist one? Some people need to step further back and look at the issue as a whole and stop jumping to conclusions that this is a race issue. When it is a white guy killing a black guy it is racist and a hate crime, but when black people do it to white people, its just what? It doesnt receive any media attention like that of Ferguson and it shouldnt. That only exacerbates the problem. abc7chicago/news/police-man-beaten-to-death-by-teens-with-hammers/416778/
