We’re hitting people from around our nation! Please welcome author Denise W. Owen. She is the author of the childrens book Turtle Gliding, and has been writing poetry since the age of 10. For the past 39 years, she’s written over 200 poems and hopes to publish a book of poetry someday. Denise is from Sanford, NC and spent all of her summers at Long Beach (now known as Oak Island), NC, where she grew to love the Loggerhead Sea Turtle. Her father and his wife currently reside on Oak Island and are involved with the preservation of the endangered nesting sea turtles. Denise has lived in NC, VA, PA, NJ, GA and now SC, where she and her husband, John and two children, Derek and Danielle are planning to stay for a while. Denises mother, Jo Wicker, is the Illustrator of Turtle Gliding, and they are working on their second book together. Denises publisher, Grateful Steps is out of Asheville, NC. Denise and her family are Christians and beach lovers. Turtle Gliding holds a 5-Star rating on Amazon and heres a very nice review on there: Turtle Gliding is a cute story with bold, beautiful pictures that leaves you wanting to know more about turtles and wondering if the author will continue the adventures.
