Everything is up to me. I am my own master. No one dictates what I have to do. No one has put a gun to my back and asked me to follow a particular path. Every creative person should be a very independent person. Not a slave of anyone or anything. Life should be like flowing water; all the uncertainty along the way is the fun of it. You come across new observations as you go along. Similarly, painting is a process of realisation. A song sung from the beginning to the end occupies time in space. A story told from the beginning to its end occupies time in space. Now look at the function of the dot and the line. A dot holds you still whereas the line gives you a direction. What does a painting do? It makes you still in time and as you continue to observe it, it takes you forward and backward- WITHIN. Where else can you witness such magic?
