Exactly 40 years ago to the day as a young 20 year old ruc officer attached to the special patrol group i along with 15 other colleagues made a trip to coleraine on a day off for some relaxation. On being asked by the local police commander to help in the policeing and evacuating off the town on that fateful day each and everyone did their bit without argument or reward. How sad i was today 40 years on to stand at the town centre today and see less than 100 people turn out to pay their respects to the 6 pensioners who lost their lives on that fateful day. Shame on u all
