Exactly one week ago we celebrated the Fashion Revolution Day at Palau Robert. The event, organized by the Sustainable Fashion Association of Barcelona, was intended to commemorate last year’s tragedy in Bangladesh, where more than 1,100 people died and another 2,500 got injured while the factory complex they worked in making clothes for big brands like Benetton, Primark and Mango collapsed. Approximately 2,000 people attended the three catwalks in the gardens of Palau Robert where a couple of dozens of independent designers presented hand-crafted outfits made from organic fabrics, using natural dyes and recycling techniques. They demonstrated that there are ways to dress fashionably without exploiting neither the planet, nor the garment workers.
