Excellent article. It would be funny if this werent so seriously sad. A restaurant in Pittsburgh called Conflict Kitchen has had the creative vision to serve foods from countries the US and its partners in have been in conflict with. They have served Afghan, Iraqi, Cuban, Somali, Libyan, and recently Palestinian.. Predictably, some do not have the stomach to even give Palestinians the dignity or respect to name them as human beings who have either a culture, or a cuisine, or have suffered undeservedly at our hands.. whether directly or because of our support for Israel. What a creative way just to engage the conversation.. I say they should start franchises all over the world.
