Letter sample to Prime Minister of India via Hindus and Human Rights To the Prime Minister of India, Shri Modiji, Prime Ministers Office 152, South Block, Raisina Hill New Delhi-110011 Subject: Requesting to expedite the process of granting citizenship/refuge/asylum to Hindus and Sikhs facing persecution abroad Dear Sir, I am writing this letter to you to make you aware of the unspeakable torture and human rights violation that is taking place in countries like Pakistan, Fiji, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and several other places against faithful Hindus and Sikhs. At most places, they are being tortured for just one reason; being from minority religious community but what is sad is that the governments of these lands do not care to safeguard either their properties or their lives. In such places, destruction of religious places, forced conversion, rapes, murders and torture is just a small part of daily lives of these innocent and poor people. When such is the case, in extreme distress these broken people think of coming to India either to take refuge/ asylum or to seek citizenship. But most people get disappointed with the apathetic attitude of authorities and often they have to wait for years and decades to get citizenship/refuge/asylum. During this time, while awaiting citizenship, they can do no jobs, their children can get no education, and worse in times of distress they can avail no facilities as they are, technically, just illegal immigrants for most others. There are times when these dejected broken people again go back to the respective hells that they came from. Sir, minority rights have been guaranteed and enshrined in our constitution and also in the way of life of Indians irrespective of religions but we see that same is not extended to people who happen to share same roots as us. Sir, therefore I would request you to expedite cases of citizenship/ asylum/refuge seeking Hindus and Sikhs as they have no place to go to but India. Our great nation India has been the land of the persecuted communities for ages and in this case, the persecuted communities happen to share bloodline, faith, lifestyle with this very land and hence, India is their last hope of survival. I therefore would request you to have a clear policy on: 1.) Providing citizenship/refuge/asylum within the period of 24 months 2.) Strict action against corrupt officials during the time of crossing over to India. Often these hapless people complain that their goods (usually gold and some cash reserve) are taken away on some pretext or the other and is never given back. This harms their survival in India 3.) They must be allowed access to driver licences, medical and police aid during these 24 months 4.) Their children must be allowed to take admission in schools during this time and they must be allowed to secure some sort of employment or they may be allowed to do some business to support themselves. Sir, after a very long time India has gotten a government that people are looking up to with great hope. Your kind consideration in this matter will further strengthen your government’s unequivocal support to the cause of Hindu and Sikh human rights. Sir you already are aware that despite being 1 billion, Hindus and Sikhs have no other country exclusively for them and have none that would take them. In short, they are the orphans of this world with no one to take care of their rights except India and they look up to you to help them in these disturbing times.
