Excerpt from Wednesday nights Questions and Answers on the facebook page EBible Fellowships Sunday Nite Questions and Answers. Question: Chris, so listening to Luke again, sounds like we are to pray for daily bread for our loved ones? Is that correct? Answer: (Chris McCann) Yes. Luke 11 is very encouraging for the child of God. Many passages paint a very dark picture for all of us living in the world during the Day of Judgment. Luke 11 shows God will hear and answer prayer concerning the request for bread. The fact that the request was for 3 loaves indicates that what is being discussed is Gods purpose for the time when heavens door is shut. God is a friend to each child of God. Therefore we may go to our Friend at midnight, at the time when the door is shut (May 21, 2011, and all the days since). We are permitted to ask for bread. It is given to the one requesting it first (the true believer) who is asking out of a desire to share with another friend (other people). This reveals to us that yes, we can go to God and request true doctrine that will sustain our lives and nourish us in and through the period of the final judgment. This is especially encouraging for anyone doing Bible study. We can ask God for help, that He might break bread to us and give us understanding so that we can then share that bread with others. Others that go and are NOT the friend of God will meet stiff resistance and not have their request for entry granted. Luke 13:24-28 shows how Christ says to them that He never knew them (and if He never knew them it is obvious they were not friends). Luke 11 has nothing positive or encouraging to say to strangers (the unsaved). The illustration there is of a Father giving to His children. Not of a father giving to strangers. Luke 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
