Exciting crowd-sourcing project to identify sites throughout Oregon associated with African American history! AHC board member Kim Moreland of the Oregon Black Pioneers, alsong with SHPO staff, ask people to send in information on any relevant gravesites, existing buildings where African Americans lived or worked, or sites of important events. For sites known in Portland, take a look at Cornerstones of Community: Buildings of Portland’s African American History published in 1997 by the Bosco-Milligan Foundation, the Project Team, and the Community History Committee.
