Exciting news! Today the awesome Krista over at Kristas Dust Jacket is revealing the new paperback cover for PERFECT RUIN and the cover for its sequel, BURNING KINGDOMS, which comes out in March. I am OFF THE CHAIN excited for this, guys, but Im not new to the publishing world so lets just go ahead and address the elephant in the room: The covers have been repackaged. Often readers find this frustrating, and I understand that, I really do. I’ve seen the backlash that comes with a repackage mid-series. But, that being said, when my publisher informed me they would be repackaging this series, my cover designer reached out to me and we discussed some possible ideas. As many of you know, authors dont have a say in their covers, so I was delighted when I saw the final product and saw that my input had been taken into consideration. I couldnt have done better if Id designed them myself. They really capture Morgans spirit, and her world, and this story that I am so excited every day to share with all of you. These new covers give me a sense of peace and joy for this story that brought me to actual tears when I saw them. It is my hope that they will mean something to my readers the way they mean something to me. I can’t apologize for that, and I won’t feel bad about it. Some things are more important than a neatly matched set of books (and yes I say this as a person who suffers from OCD. The actual clinical kind). These covers are honest, and from where I sit, that’s a beautiful thing.
