Excuse me while I rant a bit. Most of you know Ive been in and out of the emergency room these last few days. I had serious pain in my lower abdomen. An insane amount of hormonal imbalances were causing some strange symptoms and soon the pain became much too constant and too intense to ignore. I went to the emergency room, hoping that someone could tell me why I was feeling this pain and maybe get some relief. They almost immediately wrote it off, telling me that because my bloodwork was fine and I wasnt pregnant, that I simply was having menstrual cramps. When my mother(a nurse) mentioned that she was worried that I may have a cyst, he said that when a woman had an ovarian cyst, she felt it more on the side and my pain was in the middle of my pelvis. He never asked me where my pain was, and I had told three different nurses that I had a sharp, stabbing pain right where my right ovary was. I was sent home. WELL! Last night the hydrocodone that they gave me didnt help the horrible, debilitating pain that had me screaming on the floor. I was carried to the car and raced to the ER, where I was finally given an IV and morphine. They did several tests including an ultrasound. If they had given me an ultrasound the LAST time I went to the ER, they would have found the ovarian cyst that burst. The tests that I had last night came out fine, and I shouldnt have any more pain, save for some tenderness in my lower abdomen. The two pictures attached are the sheets I was given with my discharge papers. The first one was one explaining menstrual cramps, and the other explaining what to do when you have slight pelvic pain(because my cyst had already burst, there was no bleeding, and no signs of another cyst).
