Exhausted...sorry if I have missed answering anyone who has messaged me. I have worked 12 to 18 hour days for at least the last ten days in a row. We are moved in and seeing patients at the new clinic, but still working out of boxes. Tonight I made it home around 7:30 (we close at noon) and actually was able to relax on the deck and eat my dinner. I came in and was getting the dogs dinner ready, mere seconds away from being able to collapse into bed, when I looked down and saw BLOOD all over my floor. After my first moment of panic, I was able to find the culprit- Cory, who had somehow cut his foot or tweaked a nail on the deck. Normally I make the dogs lie down while I fix their food, but tonight I was too tired. Only those of you who know Cory can guess how many times his left rear foot hit the ground as he ran in circles ALL OVER the house waiting for his food...I have a trail of blood spots running round in circles everywhere on my off white carpet. And only 1/3 bottle of hydrogen peroxide. I managed to spot treat most of them and save a little back for the dog. Luckily living with Robbie I almost always have a sock within reach that he has brought me so I grabbed it, put it on Corys foot, and scotch taped it above the hock (youd think the vet would have first aid tape, but NOOOO!). Wet swiffer for the kitchen floor and I guess I will look at the carpet tomorrow and see if I will be calling the cleaners. Of course, they usually like someone to be home, so maybe by, oh, January I might find a time for them to come. In case I die of sheer exhaustion in the night, I thought maybe someone should be able to tell the police NOT to launch a homicide investigation when they see all the blood.
