Exhibition of Watercolors by Political Prisoner Antonio Guerrero On Saturday August 9 in Little Haiti, the first Miami exhibition of watercolors by political prisoner Antonio Guerrero, entitled “I Will Die the Way I Lived,” will be on display at the hall of Veye Yo, a Miami-based Haitian community group. More than just an exhibition, this showing has turned into a question of freedom of speech. Miami-based opponents of the Cuban government have organized a harassment campaign, getting the show canceled at its original venue, Sweat Records. The people of Miami have the right to learn about the case of the Cuban Five and make their own decision. Prisoners also have the right to display their artwork outside prison walls. Voices of support for the Five today includes the National Lawyers Guild; the National Council of Churches; the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists; historian Howard Zinn; actors Danny Glover, Susan Sarandon, and Martin Sheen; poet Alice Walker; parliaments from 17 countries; and 12 Nobel Prize Laureates, among others.
