FaithSpeaks (a Bnai Israel Series of events) presents: Rabbi Mark L. Winer, PhD DD, MBE Congregation Bnai Israel is proud to offer an evening of discussion on the social issue of religion. On Nov. 18 at 7 p.m., we are presenting the second program in a series called FaithSpeaks, which will stimulate the exploration of various religious communities. The speaker for this program will be Rabbi Mark L. Winer, an American/British interfaith activist and scholar who was recently appointed as Director of the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Studies of St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. Rabbi Winer has been the President of FAITH: the Foundation to Advance Interfaith Trust and Harmony, a US Public Charity, since he founded it in 1995. He has also served as Chairman of the International Interfaith Task Force for the World Union for Progressive Judaism since 1998. For his work in London, England, Rabbi Winer was recognized by the Queen. During the program, Rabbi Winer will focus on the future of relationships among people of Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths. The event will be held at Congregation Bnai Israel.
