Extrapolating annual incomes from one time accomplishments is just downright misleading. I am massively optimistic about peoples progress and I am always rooting for the up and comer... Thrills me to see folks DO THE DO. And I sincerely hope that their new monthly turns into a huge annual. BUT Portraying the income as stable after a month or two is just wrong and a trend that is not serving us as a profession. Why not just call it like it is... A great person who hit a huge milestone. Why not celebrate the moment? Cause the moment is HUGE. Why do we need to make it not enough by putting an expectation on folks? Hasnt the not enough syndrome hurt us enough already? I am darn proud to be a HOUSEWIFE who over the course of fifteen years figured out how to make an executive level income. Thank God no one put an annual expectation on me each time I hit a milestone. I would not be here today if they had. Projections like that are a hard thing to live up to... And can be a prime reason to give up when they in fact have built a lovely income that doesnt quite live up to the STORY thats being marketed. I remember spending six years of my career thinking I wasnt enough because I hadnt hit a certain rank that they made it SEEM like so many had....everyone had a shiny diamond pin except me...and I felt BAD....Until I met a mentor who sat me down and made me realize that what I had going was more than 90%of the industry and that all those people with shiny pins were in fact not qualified to earn at that level every month.... At first I didnt believe him but then when I investigated I found it was true... Hardly anyone was earning what I thought they were and I in fact was making more per month than most of them. It was in that moment I unleashed myself from the expectations and STORIES that people were telling. And the rest is history. Dont let yourself be bound by STORIES... And for the sake of those that follow you ... Dont spread em. Why??? Cause this profession is magnificent without the hype. ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT And the work and the wait is worth it. Because in the end is is pretty much the ONLY WAY the average guy can be FREE. And I dont need to embellish that cause it is just downright beautiful all on its own.
