Eyes to See 8-10-2014 Only he who can see the invisible can do the impossible. A blind man’s world is bounded by the limits of his touch; an ignorant man’s world by the limits of his knowledge; a great man’s world by the limits of his vision and all truthful vision is of God. A vision comes in advance of any task well done, so can we say that now? Are we the good and faithful servants that Jesus is talking about as He receives them in heaven? Proverbs 29:18 Joel 2:27-32 A rare Blood moon happened this year, are there any other things going on with Israel regarding prophecy? I believe so. Are we calling on the Lord to be saved if not, then why not? For those who have had visions they foretell what may be ours. Visions are an open invitation from God to do something by becoming possessors of the unseen values which are holy and eternal. Habakkuk lived and ministered immediately prior to the Babylonian defeat of Israel in the year 606 B. C. As a prophet of the Lord, he foresaw clearly the devastating events which were about to engulf his beloved land and people. He knew that his nation was sinful – that they deserved judgment. While Habakkuk did not fully understand the ways of God in bringing this devastating judgment, he nevertheless professed trust in his God’s goodness and faithfulness. As a matter of fact, the prophet’s testimony stands out as one of the most towering expressions of faith found in the Scriptures. Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat (food); the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls. (Yet in spite of all that), He writes; I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Hab. 3:17-18 Habakkuk learned to trust in the Lord and rejoice no matter what the circumstances. In this final hour we need to learn the same lesson. To prepare when the difficult days explode on the stage of history many will not work. We must cultivate our faith and trust now if we are going to be found faithful when everything we have is taken away, and we experience life-threating persecution for righteousness sake. Don’t hold too tightly to your home, your stocks, your car, your abundance of food, or the comfort of your church. It may one day soon all be taken away. These are not words to frighten, but to warn and not from a pessimist, but of a biblical realist. There is no greater privilege than to be living for Christ at this opportune challenging, momentous moment in history. In Christ we are on the winning side with a pure heart. Mt. 5:8.
