Its quite active, and very effective. Any of you 105 FMer facebook friends (or any others you know from FM) are welcome & encouraged to join. Just send me a facebook message or email me at [email protected]. Blessings, Chuck Gough FM62 Here goes........ ----- Original Message ----- From: Charles W Gough To: (The 43 FM Caring & Sharing Friends Prayer Chain) Sent: Saturday, September 27, 2014 1:09 PM Subject: Caring & Sharing friends - I need to Think on these things Philippians 4:8 - Caring & Sharing friends - what youll see & read below is an edited email including some facebooks posts I made yesterday and copied & pasted them to the emails. Ive been so upset by the horrible news coming from the Middle East about ISIS, I lost focus on what my first job (about the Lord - our first Love) is. First of all, I need forgiveness from all of you who saw those facebook posts. We all saw the news yesterday, and I sure didnt need to post it - especially with the comments youll read about below. If youre one of my 473 facebook friends too (I have over 100 FMers) you may read this on facebook before you open this email. Either way, I intend to be much more sensitive to what I post on facebook. Im encouraging you 43 FM Caring & Sharing friends in our prayer chain (Im not posting the header with your names), to please keep your prayer requests from anyone in need coming. Ive had many comments from both members and friends how special, effective and unusual the group is - especially about the encouraging notes & prayers you send back to the person who sent the prayer need. I have 267 email addresses in my church prayer chain (about 500 people not including younger children) who I sometimes share the prayer need with, but I almost never get a reply from a request other than yours..... though since most see each other in the church & community many no doubt call, email etc. That said, your notes & prayers do make a big difference. So (as they say) keep them cards & letters comin :-) Blessings, Chuck ----- Original Message ----- From: Charles W Gough (To 3 FMers) Cc: cindy Gough (my wife) Sent: Saturday, September 27, 2014 12:21 PMSubject: Philippians 4:8 - Cindy (I forwarded it to her last night) gave me the business just now for rubbing (our FM friends) nose in it.....saying it will get in the way of all of our efforts to point him towards the cross. Cindy also wasnt happy about my facebook post comment (deleted) on top of the article that those of my 473 facebook friends that viewed it would have seen. This one on top of the first post was even worse - (deleted). I went unto facebook earlier and edited out both comments - hopefully before any more of my 472 facebook friends, and especially our FM friends already in or considering joining our Caring & Sharing friends prayer chain see them. Im going to back off commenting on articles and news stories like this - not because they incorrect, but because theyre really obvious to anyone with eyes and who watch the News, but not helpful to point our friends to the cross. Below is Phil 4:8, a scripture I actually quoted yesterday morning at the 6:30 Fri mens bible study of stpaulspresbyterianchurch.org/. It happened to be appropriate for a discussion we were having in the book of James, our current study. Those things in the facebook articles were true & honest, but NOT pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, praiseworthy and absolutely not worthy of thinking on. Maybe I need to switch back to the oldies on METV, and cut way back on the News. As I type, the Lord is telling me to send this (names edited) to our Caring & Sharing friends, AND post the edited version on facebook. (which this is facebookers :-) Philippians 4:8 King James Version (KJV)8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things My anti-radical muslim comments also were innapropriate, especially in light of this encouraging article on facebook of things I knew were happening in the Middle East Muslim community, but had buried in the back of my mind since ISIS began its murderous attacks. Read the article and be encouraged. christianitytoday/ct/2014/april-web-only/why-muslims-are-becoming-best-evangelists.html?start=1d -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: [email protected] (to all 3 FMers and Cindy) Subject: “He went to work as a COO of a company...... Date: Fri, 26 Sep 2014 13:24:56 -0400 .....the nightmare is unfolding here too :-( Chuck Gough and Western Center for Journalism shared a link (deleted comment) Article A recently fired employee of a food processing plant in Oklahoma, has attacked and beheaded a woman with whom he used to work. Police in an Oklahoma City suburb say that the 30-year-old suspect severed the head of a 54-year-old woman, then started to stab another plant employee with a knife. Before the second victim could be killed, the attacker was himself taken down by someone with a gun — he was shot and wounded by the armed owner of the company. The suspect is now in custody.Any time a story of a beheading breaks, one naturally wonders about the background and beliefs of the perpetrator. A report on newsok raises suspicions:The man accused in the attacks is Alton Nolen.Several employees told police he had been trying to convert other employees to Islam. The Associated Press reports that police in Moore, OK have asked the FBI to look into the suspect’s background because of the gruesome nature of the attack: The 30-year-old man, who has not been charged, stabbed Colleen Hufford, 54, severing her head in Thursday’s attack at Vaughan Foods, Moore Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said.Lewis said the man then stabbed Traci Johnson, 43, a number of times before being shot by Mark Vaughan, a reserve sheriff’s deputy and the company’s chief operating officer. “This was not going to stop if he didn’t stop it. It could have gotten a lot worse,” Lewis said.ttp://westernjournalism/breaking-beheading-in-america-and-how-the-attacker-was-stopped-is-sure-to-inflame-liberals/ _________________________________________________ christianitytoday/ct/2014/april-web-only/why-muslims-are-becoming-best-evangelists.html?start=1d
