FAKE iPHONE 5C!!! Another iphoney folks! (This hits me close to home, especially considering the Lifeproof case drama from last year... And this time, we can help to do something about it.) A client brought in, what appeared to be, a pink iPhone 5c she was considering purchasing used, that would not turn on. A quick visual inspection noted two missing bottom screws and upon attempting to open the phone using the standard method of 5cs screen removal, we encountered a bit of trouble... It didnt want to be opened the standard way! When we did find a way to pry open the phone the home button flew out and we discovered a bunch of absolute garbage inside! Literally everything exterior looks right and could fool anyone... The interior... Well... Its certainly beneath everyones manufacturing standards... And its absolutely FAKE! The quality on this counterfeit is so terrible! I had to tell the client to take it to the MHPS fraud department and show Constable Lole what we had all just discovered... Our client will now avoid being burned... And might help track down where these things are coming from? This is the fourth counterfeit device clients have brought to us in the past 4 weeks! Both Apple and Samsung fake phones and tablets are circulating in this city... Can you imagine how many of these things are floating around town if we have seen 4 different models of fakes in the past month? Our market is being slowly introduced to counterfeit goods and people are getting burned! They all look real enough... But who can tell? We can!
