FALSE SOLICITATION (South Stormont) – On November 7, 2014, SD&G OPP began an investigation into reports of false soliciting at residences in the Village of Long Sault, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that during the evening of November 6, 2014, individuals (male & female) had conducted door to door visits advising they were collecting donations for the Children’s Aid Society (CAS). Information confirmed CAS does not conduct these types of practices. SD&G OPP wish to remind residents to be cautious when approached for donations and to fully satisfy their intent by requesting identification and documentation of the cause. If suspicious, do not give money and call the affected organization to confirm their existence and/or contact police with information.
