FASHION: SENIOR WOMEN’S WEAR DESIGNER – SURF’S UP!!! Our client is one of the hottest surf/street brands going around... NO. JOKE. With a reach across men and women and a HUGE following from all ages, this brand is one major player. They offer up a fabulous selection for the girl who likes to work play hard... and look AMAZING while doing it! They are now seeking a Designer to join their team to become an integral part of their business, by designing for the lead brand in their stable. This is a rare opportunity that should not be missed!! This position requires someone who is experienced and focused with a practical approach to design, a keen eye for future trends and the ability to be creative while still keeping the target customer in mind. In a fast and dynamic environment, here is a snapshot of your responsibilities; • Develop & create product to ensure each design meets specific outcomes for the brand, reflecting the correct aesthetic, quality standards and business margins. • Trend forecasting and appropriate reports for seasonal styles • Research and create colour and with the relevant season and customer in mind. • Design and develop according to target prices. • Design and develop pieces that work with technical specific fabrications and engineering • Approve strike off’s and manage all production and fit meetings • Travel Overseas for product and supplier sourcing and liaison with factories. • Work with monthly product drops and liaise with other members of the team to ensure that timelines are met. • Leadership • Authentic product execution Sound good...?? We need to make sure that you tick a few boxes on the experience front, so here’s what we need from you • Demonstrated experience working in a similar role, within a similar fast to market environment and/or with like minded brands • Strong background in design and development within a like minded brand. • Adobe Suite ability and experience- Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign • Excellent knowledge of fabrics, garment construction and fit. • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure while managing the critical time path • Strong eye for current trends and the ability to forecast across multiple seasons at any one time • The ability and flexibility to travel as part of your role. • Great attention to detail and the ability to implement structure and procedure into your working environment. • Tertiary Qualifications in Fashion or Textile Design are essential Most of all we are looking for energetic, motivated and career driven candidates who are looking to utilise their AMAZING skills and ability to help take these labels to the next level.
