FB asked me whats on my mind, so Im gonna do something I havent done in a while and respond.pletely. This morning, I awoke to a nice peaceful home. I had a cup of coffee, vaped some, and grabbed my phone to check out the FB feeds. Much to my surprise, I saw that an admin had been demoted in my main local group, and with that, hed left the group. Now, in this group, hes the only non-vendor of the 6 admin. Hes also the main admin doing all the admin duties. He added most folks, and also posted the most vape related, non-vendor specific posts. He kept the peace, and often posted things to make us as vapers thing about the things we believe in. I thought to myself, why would they ask him to step down? Then, it hit me. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. And, as Sir Edmund Burke said, The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Yeah..that sums it up. National groups have little dust-ups from time to time, but no one admin or group can usually sway sales to shops because of the geographical span of membership. Well, one Global group comes to mind, because the main admin thinks he can essentially dictate to all the Philippino modders, but I digress. Locally, however, as Ive witnessed in 2 Dallas/Ft.Worth groups, this isnt the case. Admin in two groups OFTEN if not always attempt to steer members to one shop or another, or worse, backhandedly attempt to dissuade members from one shop or another. Well, my take is that in the case of this one particular admin, he was the only one Ive seen locally who tried to visit all shops and was totally honest with the members he represented. The admin who essentially demoted him left a bad rating (1 star) of my shop even tho she, nor her family, have ever shopped here, either online or in person. Integrity..look it up. Honesty...again, look it up. Transparency...^^^^ Im sure you get the idea by now And to these particular admin, just in case you actually dislodge your craniums long enough to read this: You voted yourself to the cool kids table...it doesnt make you cool, it makes you pompous. Enjoy your self-righteousness lol Karma...just remember it =)
