FC Barcelona resident Sandro Rosell addressed the press on Thursday to recap the 2012-13 season and to project a vision of the future for the Catalan club. He began by emphasizing that the economic recovery of the club continues, with a projected profit of 30 million euros from the last sporting campaign. Other highlights from the address include: 1. Victor Valdés will continue with the club for the next season. 2. Thiago Silva’s wage demands make his transfer highly unlikely. 3.Thiago Alcántara was encouraged to stay at the club with the promise of a bigger role next season. 4. Narcís Julià, Albert Valentín, Guillermo Amor and Albert Puig will all remain with the club despite a number of high-profile departures in the support staff. 5. A referendum on the construction of a new stadium will happen in the near future. If financing is secured, the project could be completed by 2020 6. Sandro Rosell hates Joan Laporta: “I know it’s been three years since I’ve spoken about ex-president Laporta, and it will be another three years without speaking of him.
