FH Pres, Ben, is out visiting communities in the Philippines right now, surveying the restoration taking place following Typhoon Haiyan. We flew down to Tacloban... Its been 6 months and you can still see a lot of damage even now. There are still many people living in tents or temporary shelters mainly because the Gov hasnt decided where to relocate those who lived in areas considered too vulnerable for rebuilding their homes. However many people arent waiting for the Gov and are beginning to build or at least repair their damaged houses. I will probably learn a whole lot more in the next few days here. FH responded first with relief aid supplies, then medical supplies and equipment, and now special programs such as Child Friendly Spaces, gardening projects, and counselling for families. #FHCanada #FHPhilippines #Haiyan
