*****FINAL FORECAST CALL FOR SATURDAY, JANUARY 24TH STORM - 4 TO 6 INCHES BEGINNING BEFORE MIDNIGHT TONIGHT**** The Snowfall will be heaviest before dawn Saturday. Snow tapers off to Snow showers by mid afternoon Saturday as temperatures slowly rise to above freezing. There should be NO mixed precipitation. Lollipop areas across the Poconos and points to our immediate southeast could see 6+ Inches. Wilkes Barre and points to our immediate north will receive less Snowfall accumulation, mainly under 3 Inches. The NAM WRF model (1st image) shows a swath of 3 to 5 Inches of Snowfall accumulation through 1 PM Saturday. The RGEM Canadian model (2nd image) is a bit more aggressive with a widespread 5+ Inches. The GFS model (3rd image) shows lollipop amounts in the 6+ Inch range. Blended together the average would be about 5 Inches across the Greater Hazleton Area. Again, aggressive model runs and any adjustment to the axis of this storm could cause an adjustment in totals because were NOT dealing with a Clipper system but rather a coastal low.
