FIRST DRIVING LESSON After a week camping here in MS it was time to dump the Gray and Black water holding tanks. So a short 1/2 to 1 mile trip to the entrance of the campground dump station. Hubby parked the RV, got out and when outside realized he wanted the RV farther back. So he told me to crawl into the drivers seat and told me how to back it up. YES, I know how to drive , however the transmission on the diesel is a Allison push button with no park and a manual parking brake. So I followed directions and accomplished that. So while I was setting there I figured now was as good a time as any to get used to the Big Green Turd. When hubby came in after dumping the tanks and saw me in the drivers seat he said so are you going to drive back? Yup, might as well learn now! I drove our previous motorhome years ago, hauled our fifth wheel and travel trailer. I firmly believe you had better have both people knowledgeable in driving your motorhome. So I pushed the right buttons and out we went and back home. I even pulled into the space and all is well! Now hubby will be doing the majority of the driving! I hate construction areas, and the South is littered with them. At least back in Michigan we have two seasons, Construction season and Winter. The two never mix! Oh, did I mention it is 53 degrees out, however the 20 mph wind keeps it pretty cool out there. The blue cloudless skies make up for it!
