FLASH FLOOD WARNING is in effect for Jefferson County (but not Blount, at least for now) until 5:30 a.m. From one to two inches of rain have fallen in the area already, and another two to three inches are on the way from more storms forming in Mississippi. The ground is already saturated, so runoff will likely cause flooding in low-lying areas, especially along creeks and streams. The additional storms forming now to the west may result in a tornado watch being issued for our area later, with temperatures actually rising during the overnight hours. Make sure you have your NOAA weather radio properly set.
