{FLASHBACK} 4 yrs ago today I was due to deliver my little man. Of course, he had other things to say about that and actually showed up 15 days early. But January 25th will always be a day that Ill never forget. It was this day, 4 years ago, that we were rushed to the pediatric ER at UMASS and were told that Gavin has Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. Had we not got him there when we did, I shudder to think of how empty my life would be today. That was THE hardest day of my life. We keep hoping hell outgrow this, which is possible when diagnosed in people so young. But it hasnt happened yet. And our recent follow up visit last week prompted our cardiologist to recommend we have a consult with a surgeon. WOAH. Wasnt ready for that one. Not at only 4 yrs old. Every day you go about your life and try to keep things as normal as possible. But then something always smacks us back into reality. Be thankful for the craziness and obnoxiousness and defiance that they can bring, for its way better than the alternative. Give lots of hugs and kisses, and say I love you as much as you can! Be thankful for the normal. Be thankful for the mundane. Be thankful every day of your children and the joy they bring to your life.
