FLASHBACK FRIDAY Pancake Day Breakfast - March 15, 2014 6:30 am until Noon Fifty Years of Pancake Day Breakfasts This newspaper picture is from the second Pancake Day on February 27, 1965. Mary Howe, a Charter Member of the Ladies Auxiliary is preparing a plate of pancakes for Mark Hamilton, age 6, an Honorary Assistant Chief (Mark joined as an active member in 1977). The Pancake Day Breakfasts were started in 1964 and originally used the profits to help establish of the Bucks County Fire School in Edison. The first two pancake breakfasts met that goal and we continued to do the breakfasts to help raise money for the fire company. The 1964 to 1966 breakfast were done with the help of the Quaker Oats Company but since 1967 it has been run by the fire company and (Ladies) Auxiliary. DoyFC Archives Photo from 1965
