FOOD FOR THOUGHT: End of Misery Read Exodus 1:1 through 3:22 Florence wept as she received the news that her teenaged granddaughter had passed away. “How much more can I take? My husband left me last year; my health continues to get worse; and I can barely pay my bills. It has been one heartache after another. God, my suffering is unbearable, and it seems there is no end in sight. You are all I have left. Please help me.” The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering” (Exodus 3:7). Whether in ancient Egypt or in today’s world, God has always been alert to the suffering of His people. Job endured incredible pain, David experienced emotional anguish, and the Israelites were oppressed by the Egyptians, but God was concerned with all their situations. He came to their rescue. Whatever we may be facing today, we must remember that God loves us. He is not deaf to our cries. He will deliver us and lift us from our misery and hard times. Prayer Suggestion: Father, give me Your peace in every situation today.
