FOOD NOTE: The Oil Man Just somebody’s POP All the Sicilian olives ROSSO cellar wine Beef brasole, stuffed with sausage grilled, and stewed with vegetables, tomatoes and mushrooms. Wine: 2011 Coppola Rosso. Grandpa did a good job on the wine. They were killing those grapes in a basement in Brooklyn. My AHA in the kitchen this month was roast (open, 450, 25-30 min) tomatoes and mushrooms together with olive oil, garlic and spices. I then use this on other entrees. It was a great way to cook the mushrooms. Francis Coppola of “Godfather” fame has a very nice vineyard in Northern CA where they pump out some fine wines. This is on their low end at $9. The Godfather story was written by Mario Puzo who really just picked stories from real events and stitched it together for a book. He couldn’t use real names because he would get a lawsuit. Murder Inc. was real, but it wasn’t Luca Brasi, the fictional psychopath created by Puzo. Cheers to the GODFATHER
