FOOTBALL ARRESTS : North Wales Police have arrested three men after offensive banners were displayed during last Saturday’s football match (August 31) between Wrexham and Chester at the Racecourse stadium. An investigation is underway following complaints that extremely offensive banners were displayed by some Wrexham fans towards Chester fans in an adjacent stand. Eastern Division Superintendent, Sacha Hatchett said; “We are carrying out a thorough investigation, including the examination of extensive CCTV footage, to trace those responsible for displaying the offensive banners and to identify anyone else who committed criminal offences during the match. “Three men have been arrested today for public order offences and I can assure the public that further arrests will be made over the coming days.” This brings to eight the total number of arrests to date in connection with the match.
