FOR ADOPTION: JEWEL is a remarkably intelligent and loving mixed breed dog who is just over one year old. Her combination of athletic make-up and unusually sweet temperament means that she will want to snuggle with you on the couch, go with you on your walks or hikes in the country and hopefully share your bed at the end of the day. Jewel likes her dog bed too and is crate trained. She also enjoys riding in the car, going for runs with her canine family and of course, sniffing along the way. There is nothing that Jewel loves better than a long, cozy nap! At medium size and a muscular 35 pounds, this graceful girl runs very fast, jumps up high and will require a six foot fenced yard. Shy at first, she has responded well to positive treat-motivated training over the past few months and is bravely accepting new people. She is also learning hand signals for her basic safety and obedience skills. She wears her harness on community walks where extra focus is needed to reassure her around new situations and strangers. Jewel comes with an adoption transition class(s) to acquaint you with her and ensure success of adoption along with free lifetime vacation boarding from her foster mom. Jewel needs a forever home that will allow time for her to settle in, continue her training and show her that people can be kind. Her ideal home setting will be one with maybe one or two other friendly dogs to pal around with and a secure physical environment -- one where she can play, snuggle, run, or just hang out with her people and her four legged compadres.
