FOR ALL THE LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL OUT THERE I TRULY THANK YOU FOR THE JOB YOU ARE DOING. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to say exactly how much I treasure your dedication to the job of serving as a law enforcement officer, and how inspired I am by how God is working and revealing Himself in you. I know you have been suffering in the fire of refinement; recently, I have so much hurt for you and prayed that God would work his purpose quickly. The frustration of helplessness is maddening – yet a necessary reminder that all the control we thought we had was really only an illusion…and a dangerous on at that. The Lord has something so much more powerful for us than that! But the power only comes with the kind of surrender that accompanies coming face to face with the reality of our complete weakness and the mercy of his complete sufficiency. It is then – when we are finally empty of all the wood, hay and stubble we sought to offer Him – that we find inside our emptiness: faith, hope and love…the only things that remain forever. We know that whatever is not of faith is sin-so that all we wanted to give of our own merit is flammable. But the gift of our emptiness-given on an alter built of faith in His goodness, hope in his salvation, and love of His heart – He takes and fills with the power of His Spirit and glories in what is finally completely His alone. If there is anything I can do to assist you, please don’t ever hesitate to let me know. I mean that with all my heart. You are such a bright, radiant spirit and you deserve no less in life than the warm light you emit so abundantly. I know sometimes darkness and shadows creep their way near us, and that is when we are to call on our soul-friends to flex on our behalf. I am here to serve as your soul-friend in that way. I am here to remind you that your current pit is seeding your next, sweet fruit. Please find solace in the seed, knowing that any suffering you may be enduring is evolving your life forward. Even if it feels just the opposite. Life insists on its own evolution. Thank God, lest our tears feel purposeless. When, really, the salt we shed is a promise of rhapsody to come. And if you find you cannot raise yourself from the pit, then simply rest right in it, beloved. Settle in; take a nap; and only rise when you feel darn well ready to!
