FOR RELEASE TUESDAY December 3rd, 2013 Kenny J. Wallis StoptheLittleRockTaxExpenditure Little Rock, Arkansas 501-749-4348 Little Rock, AR – December 3, 2013– Stop the Robinson Center Auditorium Tax Expenditure, a coalition of activist in Central Arkansas is urging the taxpayers of Little Rock to vote against the Robinson Auditorium Improvement Bonds scheduled for December 10th, 2013. Voters will have the chance to tell Little Rock to stop wasting their money on unnecessary government projects such as the opulent expansion (not restoration) of the Robinson Center Auditorium. Pulaski County is dealing with an overcrowded jail, which affects the Little Rock Parole Officers having to deal with more criminals. While state officials have received questionable raises and county officials have voted raises for themselves, most people working in the private sector have lost jobs, income, and benefits such as healthcare insurance. The citizens of Little Rock need protection from crimes and less taxes, not another gimmick to supposedly attract tourist. The A & P Commission made over $11.5 million in revenue from tax receipts for 2012. Most of this came from restaurants that will have little benefit from this bond issue. Many other tourist areas need resources. There’s also the issue of parking in downtown little rock. While the Robinson Center may need repairs, it doesn’t need over $73,000,000 worth of “going green upgrades” and this special election doesn’t need to be held 15 days before Christmas. We urge anyone to help defeat this spending issue by going door to door, holding a sign at a polling location, liking us on Facebook, donating or contacting any voter they know in Little Rock. After several tax and service rate increases, it’s time to tell the City of Little Rock that that voters want emergency services and tax cuts first. Kenny J.
