FORMER Kaizer Chiefs winger Jabu Mahlangu has joined the bandwagon of former Kaizer Chiefs players who are are feeling snubbed by Doctor “Doc” Khumalo for the Legends team scheduled to face Liverpool at Moses Mabhida stadium on Saturday. The dribbling wizard revealed to SunSport that he is dissapointed and angry as he had dusted his boots ready to join the legends in training this week. A fuming Mahlangu said: “I was supposed to be at training by now, but I got a call on Friday night that I’m no longer needed in the squad.” SunSport learnt that Mahlangu was recommended by Amakhosi chairman Kaizer and manager Bobby Motaung to be included in the squad. “Doc thinks he’s the only one that played for Chiefs in RSA.” In one of the tweets, the once troublesome soccer star said: “Doctor unenhliziyo embi (he is cruel) and wants to shine alone.” Mahlangu stood by his tweets, he said: “Doctor acts like Chiefs is his club. We also contributed to the brand, and there are other legends too who were even better than him such as the late Ace Ntsoelengoe, Jomo Sono and Teenage Dladla, but not him. “He’s jealous, and that will make him lose the respect of other legends. I do respect him but with what’s happening now I’m not sure if I will continue doing that.” Mahlangu said Khumalo should have prioritised unemployed legends when he made his selection to help those who needed the exposure and financial incentives. “They must put food on the table, and not because they are can’t do it without the club, but as they also contributed to the club,” he added. Khumalo was shocked about Mahlangu’s utterances. He said: “I’m shocked and surprised at Jabu’s utterances. Everyone should know that it was not my decision to make. I was given the list before the press conference, and it’s unfortunate that he was not on the list of the Legends squad. “I don’t own Kaizer Chiefs, and if someone has queries about the choosen squad they must follow the right channels and go to the Village.”
