FORTY years ago this weekend a true adventure in life began. A number of us began our sojourn walking the darkened corridors in the bowels of 4West. (Its University of Bath for the uninitiated) That life is a journey not a destination has never been brought home more forcibly than in recent times for me (And if John Carrier and Nic Hill would answer my e-mailS I might get closer to having an oasis on that Journey (Caroline and Sue?) Currently we wont need Zimmer frames to assist us to the dinning table when we meet up again to reflect on what was for me the most formative period of my life. For the generation who reed my wall and are just beginning their undergraduate time and who consider me a B.O.F - Explore (everything legal, and if it isnt; well...... use judgement) - I hope youve used this Freshers week to discover the other fit fresh set of specimens around you; cause youre gonna spend the next 4 years discovering YOURSELF No. 1 at the time we went up was Kung Fu Fighting, but I will leave you with this classic from The Three Degrees; for SO many people leaving home - it is at the forefront of their minds.
