FREE TURKISH COURSE FOR RICE STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF The Rice Turkish Student Association is offering Free Turkish Classes for everyone at Rice, which will be every Thursday starting 22nd of January (2:30pm- 3:50pm) Space Science Building 337 and will continue until end of the semester. During the classes Turkish traditional refreshments will be served. Turkish is the language of a strategically important country located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia .Buy one, get several! Turkish is a kin to many Turkic languages, such as Azeri, Kazakh, Tatar, and Uzbek. Learning Turkish is supported by the U.S. Department of Education, the Department of Defense and the Department of Intelligence under the New Language Initiative. Turkish is identified as one of the critical-need foreign languages by the National Security Language Initiative (NSLI). The initiative offers scholarships for intensive summer language institutes sponsored by the United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Council of American Overseas Research Centers(CAORC).
